Bylaws will only prove helpful if your congregation is also in good standing as a Non-Profit Corporation or other legal entity. If you have not met these requirements, you need to address that before attempting to adopt any Bylaws. Also, the Bylaws are intended as a guide for those outside the congregation – not for managing disagreements or relationships inside the congregation or the Brotherhood as a whole. We should rely solely on the Bible to guide us in these efforts. These Bylaws are simply intended to protect us from legal attacks from outside the Church.
Please review the terms of these Bylaws carefully, because you may want to structure certain things – like Men’s Business Meetings – differently than how they have been set forth in the form language. Remember that this is a suggested form and can be modified for your specific use by your church leaders.
