The Alliance Defending Freedom is an organization that was founded by more than 30 religious leaders in the United States to join forces in defending religious liberty in our country. Founded in 1994, ADF provides legal defense, training and other resources to help individuals, businesses and churches face issues in today’s world.
ADF has prepared some resources that can help churches deal with the issues that have arisen because of same-sex marriage.

John graduated from Freed-Hardeman University (Henderson, TN) in 2001 with a B.A. in Bible and B.B.A. in Accounting.He went on to Cumberland School of Law to obtain his J.D. in 2004 along with an MBA at the same time.After law school, John has primarily worked in public service: first as a Deputy District Attorney in Montgomery, Alabama and most currently as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alabama.In both these positions he has handled primarily criminal cases, but has also been involved in some civil litigation.While practicing law, he has been able to serve as an adjunct professor at Faulkner University and Jones School of Law and helped establish Jones' Nonprofit Law Clinic.He lives in Montgomery with his wife and two daughters and works with the Dalraida church of Christ as a deacon and bible class teacher.
